National HIV Story Trust Exhibition

Visit HIVstory at Manchester Histories Hub - a moving exhibition exploring the UK’s HIV histories through first-person stories.

By Abigail Hawkins · January 13, 2026

HIVstory shares first-person testimonies that document the social and cultural history of HIV in the UK. Presented in partnership with Manchester Histories as part of our Queer Up North programme, the exhibition brings under-represented histories to new audiences and invites reflection, learning, and conversation.

On display until 13 February 2026

HIVstory is made possible thanks to National Lottery players and support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Two views from the HIVstory exhibition: a screen playing a filmed testimony with the National HIV Story Trust logo, and a table with HIVstory leaflets, a book titled Love, Loss & Life, and a booklet titled Holding the Archive.

About the National HIV Story Trust

The National HIV Story Trust (NHST) is dedicated to documenting and sharing the social and cultural history of HIV in the UK. Working with communities, artists and partners, NHST collects personal testimonies and archival material, and creates projects that support learning, remembrance and wider public understanding.
