Sustainability Statement
Here at Manchester Histories, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and embedding sustainability across every aspect of our work.
As an organisation that connects people with the past to shape a better future, we recognise that the climate crisis affects our communities, our heritage and the places where we live and work. We are committed to taking practical, realistic and measurable action to reduce our environmental impact while inspiring positive change through our programmes, partnerships and engagement.
As part of Greater Manchester Arts Sustainability Team (GMAST), we are contributing towards Greater Manchester’s ambition to become carbon neutral by 2038. We continually monitor and review our policies, practices and Climate Action Plan to ensure they remain effective and reflect emerging best practice.
Through Carbon Literacy Training, our staff have developed personal and organisational sustainability pledges, helping to build environmental awareness, embed sustainable decision-making and share learning across the organisation and beyond.
We recognise that sustainability is a continual journey of learning and improvement, and we are committed to embracing new ideas, technologies and best practice that help us reduce our environmental impact and strengthen our contribution to a more sustainable future.
