Manchester Histories awarded Cultural Partnership Grant funding for 2026–2029.

Manchester Histories is delighted to announce that it has been awarded funding through Manchester City Council’s Cultural Partnership Grants programme for 2026–2029.

The programme will see more than £1.2 million invested in arts, cultural and heritage organisations across the city over the next three years. In this latest round, 14 organisations – more than ever before – have been selected to receive support, recognising the strength and diversity of Manchester’s cultural sector.

The funding provides vital longer-term stability for organisations, enabling them to plan ahead, strengthen partnerships, and continue delivering high-quality work with communities across Manchester.

As part of this portfolio, Manchester Histories will continue its work to uncover, share and celebrate the rich and diverse histories of Greater Manchester. Through events, partnerships and creative programmes, the organisation is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and ensuring that history is accessible, inclusive and relevant to all.

Karen Shannon, Chief Executive of Manchester Histories, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be part of this latest Cultural Partnership Grants programme. This support is a strong endorsement of the importance of heritage and storytelling in shaping a more inclusive and connected city. It enables us to build on our work with communities across Manchester, sharing stories that matter and ensuring that more people can see themselves reflected in the city’s histories.”

Manchester Histories is proud to stand alongside a wide range of organisations working across the arts, culture and heritage sectors, all contributing to Manchester’s vibrant cultural life.

Manchester Histories extends its thanks to Manchester City Council for its continued investment in culture and for recognising the vital role that heritage and the arts play in the life of our city.
