The Women Redefining Strength, Skill and the City!

RESIST: Women Shaping Manchester explores the women who have challenged, created, organised and transformed Manchester across generations. From Emmeline Pankhurst and the often-overlooked working-class women of the suffrage movement to today’s campaigners, entrepreneurs, designers, community leaders and sportswomen, it reveals a powerful tradition of women claiming their place in the life of the city.

Connecting Manchester’s radical past with its present, the magazine explores women’s influence across politics, sport, fashion, business and grassroots community action. It celebrates not only the famous figures, but the many women whose everyday leadership continues to create safe spaces, challenge inequality, support communities and redefine what civic pride means for a new generation.
