Our Heritage, Our Stories

Our Heritage, Our Stories project responds to the challenges of critically endangered heritage that are at risk of being lost in the digital space.

The project is part of the Towards a National Collection Programme that supports research that breaks down barriers that exist in the UK’s cultural heritage collections to benefit a diverse range of UK audiences and community engagement.  

The project aims to: 

  • Reveal hidden voices and diverse stories
  • Make these stories accessible, discoverable & sustainable
  • Develop new tools and methods to work towards a national collection

We invite local community groups to share with us their digital content at Manchester Histories. Over the next few months, supported by leading heritage organisations, we hope to preserve this digital heritage and sustain these stories forever.
