Manchester Histories is recruiting a Marketing & Communications Officer to help share stories from Greater Manchester’s diverse histories and support the landmark project This Is Us: Tracing Manchester’s Histories.
This new role will play a key part in raising awareness of Manchester Histories’ work and the This Is Us: Tracing Manchester’s Histories project, recruiting and engaging community participants and volunteers, and delivering digital campaigns that celebrate overlooked stories and explore complex histories, including those connected to migration, the Atlantic Slave Trade and industrial exploitation.
Working closely with the Manchester Histories team and partners, you will help to:
  • plan and deliver marketing and communications activity across social media, email and web
  • create accessible, engaging content for a wide range of audiences
  • support community outreach and events
  • contribute to an inclusive digital platform for storytelling and dialogue
We are looking for someone with:
  • at least two years’ experience in marketing and communications
  • proven experience managing social media and creating digital content
  • experience of community outreach and/or volunteer recruitment
  • a commitment to accessibility, inclusion and environmentally sustainable ways of working
