Join Russel Parry as he tells the fascinating tale of the Appley Bridge meteorite, the second largest to strike the UK in 1914. It was initially thought to be a German Zeppelin air raid, the meteorite was confiscated by the Police until its release to scientists in Manchester. 

Recently dramatised in a BBC radio play, this captivating story sheds light on an extraordinary event in Lancashire’s history.  

To accompany the talk Russel will show examples of 4.5 billion-year meteorites for guests to handle and photograph.
