Article M62: Finding Pride in Place explores civic pride through the personal experiences of two students and their connections to Manchester and the wider Greater Manchester area. From student life in Fallowfield and discovering Manchester city centre to family connections with Bury and growing up in Wigan, the magazine asks what makes somewhere feel like home – and whether pride in a place is inherited, discovered or created through the experiences we have there.

Through local culture, heritage, nightlife, community and everyday life, it celebrates the different identities that exist across Greater Manchester. At its heart is a simple idea: civic pride comes from belonging, whether somewhere has been home for generations or becomes home through the friendships, memories and connections we make there.
