Manchester Histories Festival 2022

The History of Climate Change

Manchester Histories Festival returned for its 8th edition in June 2022, exploring the history of climate change as well as celebrating the rich histories & heritage of Greater Manchester.

It was full of exhibitions, talks, creativity and more.  It was a festival for the community, meaning there was something for everyone to enjoy.

We are delighted to share our impact report for Manchester Histories Festival 2022. The report gives an insight into what took place before and during the festival’s long weekend.

Please download the report as a PDF here or read it below.

“Our city region has always been a place of progress, innovation and action and we believe that as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution there couldn’t be a better place to try and use the power of history to inspire a brighter future for the environment."

Karen Shannon, Chief Executive of Manchester Histories

Thanks to our funders

Enormous thanks go out to all our festival supporters, partners, and funders. Without their contributions, the festival would not take place. It is a  FREE festival, with only a few paid for events. Making it as accessible to as many people as possible. It costs in the region of 100K to put on the festival and the following partners and funders have all contributed to make this festival happen. Thank you.
