TUC Day part of Manchester Histories Festival 2018

Friday 8th June

Marking the 150th Anniversary of the TUC, Manchester Histories presents a day of events that narrates a journey through the spaces and places that played a part in the formation of the TUC (Trades Union Congress) in Manchester and Salford in 1868. Discover the people and representatives of different trades whose collective action made landmark moments in the history of British trade unionism and politics. Join us for all, or part of our specially curated day that takes you from the beginnings of the TUC in a pub in Salford, to its current General Secretary, and first female leader, Frances O’Grady.
